Tour program

Day 1

Arrival to Abakan. Meeting the group at the airport or a train station. Lunch in a Khakasian restaurant and the group departs to Tuva across Sayan Mountains with stops near the most fascinating sights. Arrival to the yurts' complex Biy-Khem. Accommodation is in the real Tuvan yurts built by the Tuvan craftsmen especially for tourists. The yurts will fill you with thoughts and feelings of the past, mysterious and eternal.Dinner. Throat singing performance - "Khoomei". The throat singing - a fantastical capability of the Tuvan people (and some other Siberian peoples) to emit simultaneously two or three sounds of different tone and to sustain the same sound for 25-30 seconds without taking a breath. If you close your eyes it is hard to believe that the sounds are emitted by a person and not by a musical instrument.

Day 2

After breakfast the group starts an excursion around Kyzyl, the capital of Tuva, visiting the Geographical Centre of Asia, the Buddhist temple, the Shamans' clinic. In the Shaman's clinic there are real shamans; they tell you about their traditions, rites and their capabilities. Those who wish to have a look to the future, to pass the purification ritual or to learn about the state of health can make an appointment with shamans. Lunch is served in the restaurant of Kyzyl where the traditional dishes of Tuvan cuisine are cooked specially for the guests.  Then a visit to the National Museum of Tuva*, the souvenir shop and market

Day 3

Day 4

Breakfast. Departure to the tourist's complex "Vasilyevka" (180 kilometers). In "Vasilyevka" there are cozy wooden houses located on the bank of the river. To get there tourists have to use a ferry-boat, which works using the power of the river. This ferry is the only bridge between civilization and old-believers land.

Lunch. Then a trip to the old believers' village - Sizym. The history of these settlements begins in 18 century and is still alive. There is no transport or other conveniences of civilisation; they live with the help of nature. The trip passes along the banks of the Ka-Khem River (in Tuvan - Small Yenisey). You'll have outstanding impression and will never forget the Siberian nature.

Accommodation in the family of old believers. Dinner.

Day 5

After breakfast you will get acquainted with the life style of old believers, customs and traditions of these unusual people. Meeting with inhabitants, lunch in the family and you take your way back to the yurts' complex "Biy-Khem". Dinner,  the bonfire.

Day 6

Breakfast. The group begins a trip around the famous local lakes Dus-Khol, Tere-Khol and Chagatay, situated on the border of Mongolia. On the route there is an open-air picnic. Overnight stop in the nomad's yurt - acquaintance with the daily life of the deer owner.

Day 7

After breakfast, you are on the way back to Kyzyl. On the route you will visit the most exciting places of Tuvan landscapes - Bel-Suge hollow and Kezhege mountain, open-air lunch. "Kezhege" (a male plait) - a huge mountain having a ring form and a little string flows inside of its large stone body. Inside of the ring there are some stone altars with porcelain statuettes.

This holy mountain is few km far from Mongolia. For shamans this mountain is the main protector.  It's connected with many legends.  Nomads are trembling with just a single glance to Kezhege.

Departure to Kyzyl, accommodation in the hotel "Mongulek" situated in the centre of the city, dinner, free time.

Day 9
