Uybatsky chaatas is an amazingly beautiful monument, the most stunning burial mound in Khakasia which is situated 6 km far to the south from a railroad station named Uybat. This monument dates back to the medieval epoch (9-11 century). The main peculiarity of this monument is several rows of burial stones which look especially great at the sunset. There are graven images of okunevsky period on them as well as later paintings and ancient runic inscriptions. On the 22^nd of September in 2002 a stele to commemorate ancient Turkic runic script was opened. The chaatas was greatly damaged during the last decade. Dozens of steles which presented unique artistic value were taken from the mound as construction material.
