An exhibition dedicated to Krasnoyarsk city was recently opened in Potsdam

18.01.2012

The exhibition "KRAS KRAS KRASNOJAЯSK" in Potsdam opened 17.01.2012 is a mosaic of photographs, collages, texts, pictures, thoughts, installations and videos. All this is impressions of a German group from the trip to Krasnoyarsk in August 2011.
The German group was surprised from the contrasts of the Siberian metropolis - Stalinist, socialist and modern architecture, pressed to the river, and boundless Siberian taiga around. Many traces of bygone Soviet era and advertising on the background of gray facades, dusty sleeping quarters and spacious apartments, parallel worlds, which is called "Little Germany".
All this can be found at the exhibition. Also, there is presented a film about the flash mob "Burning Butterflies". Its organizer Irina Maslennikova tried to engage in a dance performance people walking around the main street - Prospect Mira. They portrayed ants, from which individualities were to be born. And in this - not only the arts and philosophy, but also pedagogy and informal civic education.

On the floor was created with a city map markers apartments the group lived in. And the next room recreates the spirit of "Red House" - performance in an old, abandoned and unfinished building "Phantom of communism". One of the project participants - Frenchwoman Marion - has created a very interesting trip diary. Texts and drawings reflect the atmosphere of the trip and are real gem of the exhibition.

Looking back, Open Art Association of Potsdam OKEV (Potsdam, okev.de) took part in the international project "UrbanLife: Deep Today", which was held in Krasnoyarsk in the Russian-German youth exchanges and summer schools Biennale from 24 August to 5 September 2011. The project was hosted by the Krasnoyarsk Regional Youth Organization "Interra" supported by the Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The exhibition runs until 19 January
