The archaeological expedition of Novokuznetskiy pedagogical institution found a burial mound in Tashtagolsky district which dates back VI century B.C. (The Bronze Age). The expedition which is headed by the associate professor of history Yuriy Shirin started the dig on July 8. The district near the river Mrassu was divided into squares. In a week the archaeologists found the burial mound.
Professor Shirin carried out a lot of expeditions in this region, but it was the first time when he discovered such a thing. According to his words this burial mound is similar to the burial mounds which were found in Khakasia and Altai. He mentioned that it is an obvious mix of cultures.
This archaeological find denies the version that Mountain Shoria was inhabited by the hunting tribes with low culture level. All the findings will be given to the museum "Kuznetskaya krepost" for research and storage.
