Books will lie on the benches in parks and gardens of the capital of Khakassia

15.08.2011

The deputy director of the Central Library of the Abakan Svetlana Kovalchuk told about this exciting act. "Send book to a trip: read yourself - give to another. This is the essence of bookcrossing. In our library there are such shelves and tables where citizens bring their own books, which they have read or book is in paperback, which makes no sense to store. And we decided to leave the books with the logo of the shares and an explanatory note - why this book here was since the 15th of August in parks, public places on the benches, where people relax. We propose to read it, maybe put your little note in and leave it too. "

The books will also provide an email address where you can send feedback on bookcrossing. The action is coincided to the 80th anniversary of Abakan, but the libraries are hoping that citizens will support and will continue this initiative. Note that inhabitants of Khakassia tried to hold those events on their own earlier. Bookcrossing movement has existed since 2001. Now it has approximately 800 thousand people around the world. It is believed that in Russia bookcrossing is underdeveloped due to the fact that people often leave found book themselves.
