"As regards France, we will do our utmost for the speedy abolition of visa regime between Russia and the Schengen countries," - said Jean Gliniasty Wednesday in Rostov-on-Don after the signing of a cooperation program between the Rostov region and France for 2011-2012. He noted that "we advocate the abolition of visas". During the meeting the governor of Rostov region Vasily Golubev and J. Gliniasty discussed the establishment of the French Embassy visa application center in Rostov-on-Don.

Golubev, in particular, noted that, according to travel agencies, from the Rostov region of about 2 thousand people a year travel to France. "In the case of opening the visa center in Rostov-on-Don passengers to France will significantly increase not only due to Rostovites, but the Russians living in the South and the North Caucasus federal districts" - the governor said. According to J. Gliniasty, it is "almost 100% sure that the visa center will be open". The ambassador did not give the time of its opening, according to the Interfax-South.
