It has been 120 years from the day when the building of the Trassiberian railway started. 19^th of May 1891 (31^st of May new style) a church service has been made for the laying the world’s biggest railway not far from Vladivostok. On the same day the future imperator Nicolay II took part in the laying the first stone in the railway. This ceremony is considerate to be the official start of building the Transiberian railway.

Nowadays the starting point of the legendary railroad is Yaroslavsky railway station in Moscow and final destination is Vladivostok railway station.

The Transsiberian railroad crosses 14 districts, 3 regions, 2 republics, 1 autonomous district, 1 autonomous region and 16 big rivers of the Russian Federation. There are 87 cities situated along the way. The Transsiberian railway is of 9288km long; it’s the longest railway in the world.
