Nikolay Oorozhak was born in the small village of Corum Dag (western Tuva). After graduation, he worked for several years as a shepherd. Here, among the steppes, alone with their herds, he began to comprehend the guttural sound.
"Throat singing imitates animal sounds and create sounds in tune with the universal. For me these sounds - the rhythms of a whole, " - said Nikolay.
After serving in the Army Nikolay had entered the Institute of Culture in Ulan-Ude, where he worked as the director of National Theatre after graduation. By participating in performances of scenes from folklore, he often had to play the role of shaman. Periodically, after such performances Nikolay felt headaches and nausea. He appealed for help to Tuva shaman and healer Oleg Toyduku, who came to the conclusion that Nikolay is suffering from an excess of energy, and his destination - to become a shaman and help people.
In 1995, Nikolay was invited at an international congress in honor of the 60 th anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama XIV in India. Having received the blessing of His Holiness, he began to exercise more deeply because of throat singing, combined with shamanism.
"Khoomei in conjunction with the sound of a drum creates a holistic approach is superior to man. There are no tricks or illusions, but there is the power of solid sound. "
In 2002 Nikolay made a three-month tour in the U.S. and Canada at the invitation of the International Association of harmonic singing, founded by shaman Steve Sklar and Canadian society, conducting numerous seminars and concerts.
In 2006, Nikolai Oorzhak presented the results of its long self-study - "Un-Hun" - Sound of the Sun, spiritual and health systems for self-improvement and achieving health and longevity (based on www.khoomeiji.narod.ru)
