One of the oldest museums of Krasnoyarsk region, Russia, - Minusinsk Regional museum named after Martyanov celebrated its 135^th anniversary

This year the event was timed to the celebration of International Day of museums. In Minusinsk town there took place different events in which a lot of Krasnoyarsk region citizens and guests from other territories took part.  There was ‘Festival of archive films’ and concert of Slavonic songs, exhibitional project ‘Museum Siberia’ and museum theatre which opened with ‘A matchmaker from Motorskoye village’ performance by V.Yan, as reported by the press-service of Krasnoyarsk region administration.

The museum was created in 1877 by a chemist and collector Nickolai Martyanov who collected unique archeological finds discovered in Minusinsk Hollow which are of world significance. In 1900 in the World Exhibition in Paris the museum was awarded a silver medal. The museum has collections of Chinese Middle Age mirrors, Chinese coins of 5-19 centuries, works of art of Tuva and Khakassia.
