Security rules at Russian airports will be eased in September. Passengers will be allowed to take liquids on board.

Under Russia’s current airport security rules, passengers are only permitted to take liquids in individual containers of up to 100 millilitres each. However, the new rule that is due to come into force this autumn will enable passengers to carry shampoo and perfume in hand luggage. This amendment is connected with the new equipment at Russian airports, which can determine the liquid’s composition even in a bottle.

But some restrictions still remain. For example, the liquid must be in plastic or glass container. The walls of the container must be of a thickness not more than eight millimeters.
