On the 11 of July the 7th annual international ethnic music festival "Sayan ring" held the grand closing.
This year the festival is carried out on 9 – 11 July in Shushenskoye town (Krasnoyarsk Region). This was the 7th time when lovers of this ethnic event could immerse into cosmopolitan atmosphere of avant-guarde ethno-experiments.
Tuvan throat-singing, cossacks' dancing, chanting of Altai artists, khomus performers and other talented ethno-musicians gathered on the center of Siberia to compete in "Golden Iria" contest.
One mire music novelty during the festival was ethno-jazz session during which national singing was being accompanied by jazz instrumets.
The headliners of the festival were: Huun-Huur-Tu and Alash from Tuva, Altai-Kai (Altai Republic), Desidented (Germany), Polaris (Holland), Sun Music (Kongo-Kamerun) and many others.
The festival gave an opportunity not only to get acquainted with diversity of ethnic and folk music, but also to participate in traditional rites of different peoples presented in the festival, such as the shamanic rites, the traditional Russian rite devoted to Kupala Day and various craft work-shops and art lessons (like national Khakassian painting and Tuvan throat chanting), where everyone had a chance to make something with your own hands or perform as folk artist.
