The Fountain "Ball" at Malaya Sadovaya street and the fountain on the Manezhnaya square have become the first fountains to start their work in St. Petersburg this year. The city's Vodokanal department has promised to turn on several more fountains this week, including fountains in the Nikolsky and Aleksandrovsky gardens, near the Zimny Palace, in public gardens in front of the Kazansky Cathedral and Smolny University, reconstructed fountains "Boy with a Duck" in the Tavrichesky garden and "Putti" in the Vvedensky garden, and others.
There are 55 fountains and 4 fountain complexes in St. Petersburg. 38 of them will be working this summer season in the city.
