The results of the republican contest for the best sketch of a culpture of Buryat language and writing were summed up in Ulan-Ude on June 21. More than 30 variants were presented, organizers said.

In the final three best sketches were considered from the deserved architect of Buryatia Rinchin Rakshaev, from Dorzhi Merdygeev and from collaborators Aleksey Bakhluyev and Sergei Bashantheyev.

With a slight advantage the composition of Bahluyev and Bashancheyev won. They depicted a stele where the main stages of the development of the Buryat alphabet will be presented: the Old Mongolian writing, the alphabet of Agvan Dorzhiev, the Latin alphabet and modern Cyrillic alphabet. The top of the composition will be the letter "Ө", on the back of which will be the symbol "yin-yang". On the stele in the Buryat language they will write a call to learn their native language.

The monument three meters high will be placed near the new building of the National Library in Ulan-Ude.

"The Buryat language unites and preserves those traditions, the rich heritage that we inherited from our ancestors. We must preserve and popularize the Buryat language among young people," said Zambal Sanzhiev, head of the Buryat regional branch of the Young Guard of United Russia.

The Buryat regional branch of the Young Guard of United Russia and the Youth Chamber of the People's Khural of the Republic of Buryatia initiated the contest.
