Several charity concerts will take place in the Tuva Republic for the building of the biggest in the whole Russia statue of Buddha in Kyzyl (the capital of the Republic). A famous all around the world Tuvan singer Sainho who lives in Austria and a popular Tuvan female folk group “Tyva kyzy” (“The Daugter of Tuva”) are going to take part in these concerts.

The idea of building the 15 meters high gilt Shakyamuni Buddha statue was suggested by Buddhist lamas of Tuva two years ago. The cost of the statue is almost 3 million of dollars. The president of the Republic has promised to help in the collecting of money. The special fund has been organized.

They are planning to put the statue on the 25 meters pedestal and the huge stairs (600 meters) will lead to Buddha.
