World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and administration of the international natural reserve Ubsunurskaya Hollow are the authors of the idea of setting up Snow Leopard day. An ecological festival “Day of Snow Leopard” took place for the first time in three regions of Tuva where slow leopards live (Erzinskiy, Bay-Tayginskiy, Mogun-Tayginskiy) in 2011. What is more this festival will become annual event. Main participants of the event were children from 12 schools in the region.

There are about 70 snow leopards in Tuva. Total there are only 5 thousand species left all around the world.
