The exhibition of Tuvinian artist in Paris

20.05.2010

In Paris in gallery L’Aléatoire an exhibition of young painter from Tuva is open. It is a laureate of Kandinsky’s award in sphere of modern art Evdeny Antufiev.

The project “Objets Protecteurs” will be presented in the capital of France during the period of up to 29 May.

Evgeny Antifiev was born in Tuva. The geographical position of Tuva, surrounded by mountains, provided him with topics for his art. Some of the objects for his art were collected in Tuva (flowers, bones, insects, cloths) and particles of the body (hair, blood, nails, golden teeth of grandmother). Due to then the artists wants to show that native places become an essential part of a person.

Another element of his art is cloth. The cloth is a metaphor from ancient times from his point of view and can be represented in art as quipu, traditional ornamental patterns, through which a memory from generation to generation is transmitted.

The exhibition “Objets Protecteurs” is a kind of narration about partly lost connection of a person and archaic myths.

The exhibition is organized with the support of French photo artist Patricia Shishmanova, who is a good friend of Tuva.
