There will be a new ferryboat going to Olkhon island from June 20. Transfer on a ferryboat will be absolutely free for the tourists, as the money for its exploitation will come from the regional budget. This year about 24 million rubles will be spent on the ferryboat, 19 million of them for the new one and 5 million for the old ferryboat "Dorozhnik". The sum of money for the new ferryboat is bigger because it has bigger tonnage, capacity and the navigation period is longer. The new ferryboat's tonnage is 140 tons, it can accommodate 96 people and 16 cars. The tonnage of "Dorozhnik" is 40 tons, capacity is 50 people and 6-7 cars. "Dorozhnik's" navigation period lasts till August 31, "Olkhonskie gates'" lasts until December 15.
