As “Roev Rutchey” press relations service says, it is a Park’s tradition to give baby tigers the names of plants and trees. Now tiger Cedar and tigress Iris live at the zoo. During their life at the Park they have already bred 7 tiger cubs.

In fact, nobody has expected such a large breed. At first the tigress was trying to hide her babies from people, but now they have grown up a little and visitors can see them playing in the cage. They are already tasting meat and practicing their hunting skills while playing.

Siberian tiger is the largest tiger subspecie which has adapted to live in snowy climate conditions. People justly say that these huge predators are the fortune of Russia. Today only 400-500 Amur tigers live in wilderness.  Within the program of protection these rarest felids, Sarah Christi, the member of the Zoological Society of London is keeping the record of all Amur tigers born in bonds in a special herdbook.
