Within ‘Naadym’ holiday traditional man competitions are being revived. Among them there are horse lariating, lifting a heavy stone (‘Kodurer Dush’), brumby saddling, The competitions of athletes in ‘Kodurer Dush’ gathered 15 men. The 150 kg stone was, firstly,  to be taken off the ground up to 10cm high so that a sun ray could run under it, then to be lifted up to the knee, then waist-high, and, finally, to be thrown over the shoulder. ‘We needed an unhandy stone, so we tried to choose precisely that one’ – Anatoly Mongush, the secretary of the competitions, reports.

In the end, nobody managed to throw the stone over the shoulder.

Buyan Idam managed to lift the stone waist-high, Shyrgay Sunchy – knee-high.

‘What  is needed here is not power at all, it is dexterity, good mastering of the body’ – said Anatoly Mongush.
