The company ‘Russian Railways Tour’ together with the administration of Novgorod oblast represented a special tourist train Moscow-Veliky Novgorod-Tver and Torzhok-Moscow in the framework of ‘Intourmarket-2012’ exhibition. In summer the train will go along this route 3 times: on the 10-11th of June, 14-15th of July, 18-19th of August. The dates were not accidentally chosen: the participants of the trip will visit a grand music show ‘Novgorod veche’, which will take place in the open air in Novgorod Kremlin.
‘Novgorod veche’ is an interactive entertaining and informative project, where you can walk along handicraft rows, play ancient games, hold a real sword in your hands, taste dishes and drinks of an old Russian cuisine, all in all – plunge into the epoch of Medieval Russia a thousand years ago. The culmination of the festival is a music and drama performance based on Novgorod manuscripts, plays by Catherine the Great.
The train starts at 1 am from Moscow and at 10 am it arrives to Veliky Novgorod. The travellers will join a walking city excursion, a bus excursion to the Museum of wooden architecture Vitoslavlitsy and Yuriev Monastery. It is also possible to go along the Volkhov river. The theatre performance starts at 20:00. At 1.30 am the train starts back to arrive to Tver at 8 am. There the travellers will join sightseeing excursions around Tver and old Torzhok, taste the famous Pozharskiy chops. The train returns to Moscow at 21.30 the same day.
The cost of the 2-days programme, including all transfers along the route, meals, excursions and visit to ‘Novgorod veche’ is about 210 euro per person
