The festival of the world music "Altai" was held in Gorno-Altaisk on July 17-19. it was organized by the ensemble of throat singing "Altai-Kai" and by the administration of Gorno-Altaisk.

It was the first experience of organizing such events on the territory of the city. The festival gathered vocalists and bands not only from the Siberian region but also from other countries like Kalmykia, Tuva, Khakasiya, Yakutiya, Moscow, Krasnoyarsk, France and America.

The program of the festival included seminars devoted to the problems of tourism development and protecting the environment, competitions, traditional games and the performance of the participants.

The culmination of the festival was "Yat-Kha" performance - the band with the world's name. The band managed to make all people dance by singing crazy ethno rock songs and mixing the national tuvinian coloring with rock-n-roll rhythms. The power of music was so strong that people forgot about the rain and their age - everybody was happy.
