Tour description

Lake Baikal is magnificent in spring. When the nature wakes up, brown bears leave their lairs and come to the Baikal shore, where the traveler can observe them from the boat. When Baikal is already free of ice in the South, and its Northern part is still dreaming under the ice cover… One of the best ways to admire our Great and Mighty Sea – Baikal is to cruise along this beautiful lake in the spring. You will be able to observe the endemic of the lake, fresh water seals - nerpas, to visit Olkhon Island with Burkhan Rock, residence of God of the Lake, one of the nine sanctuaries of Asia, and the Ogoy Island with Buddhist Stupa, which symbolized Sumeru, the central world-mountain in Buddhist cosmology, and the famous Chivyrkuysky Bay with its crystal-clear hot spring in Zmeyinnaya creek (of «snake» - because of the colony of inoffensive grass snakes).

      Ships

The cruise is operated by the motor-boats Sibiryak and Tatiana. Both of the same model: Yaroslavets.

The history of this boat model begins in 1953 at the Yaroslavl shipyard. One of the requirements to the design of the ship was the possibility of rail transportation. It was suitable to a railway platform, and it facilitates the delivery of boats to the Baikal. The small water draft allows to approach the coast to disembark passengers almost anywhere that is a huge advantage on the Baikal. Also during the operation on Lake Baikal it revealed that it is the most resistant to sudden and sharp Baikal winds and has optimal design for Baikal steep waves.

Due to these characteristics, Yaroslavets boats remain the most common boats on the Baikal for more than half a century.

Ship Tatiana and Siberyak can accommodate 13 to 15 passengers. Cabins have 2-3-4 beds with soft sofas and a plasma on the wall in each cabin. The ships have 4 toilets with shower and sauna. Cozy saloon are located on the upper deck. The ships are equipped with low-noise engine and all the necessary navigation and safety equipment. Hot water is not limited.
