Location: Krasnoyarsk Territory, in the eastern part of the Kuragino District, near the border with the Irkutsk Oblast, in the sparsely populated region of Siberia known as Tofalaria.

Researchers of waterfalls all over the world try to solve a mystery of the wonderful natural phenomenon, which, alongside with its power, scale and significance, has a soothing influence on the person, watching it. A marvellous view of Kinzelyuk waterfall, fascinating roar and unusually clear air can bring to life even an exhausted traveller.

The biggest in Russia Kinzelyuk waterfall is famous as the most picturesque and grand one. On the right from Kinzelyuk river behind the lakeside mountain range there is Bear lake, on the left from it there are two rocky branches of Kinzelyuk mountain range which are connected with a U-shape strap. This strap between the rocky branches is a grassy slope with bushes and scree. On the left side of this ‘horseshoe’ a powerful water stream rushes down and flows into Nizhneye Kinzelyukskoye lake with slumpy shores, connected with Kinzelyuk by a still girt. The peacefulness of the lakes and madness of the waterfall were combined by the Creator in this unique place, at the cross-point of cis-Baikal region, Tuva and Krasnoyarsk region.

The waterfall takes its beginning from Verkhneye lake, travellers can reach it along the slope of the valley on the right of the waterfall, grasping at branches of the hanging bushes. Over Verkhneye lake there is snowy Kinzelyuk peak, where there are no pathways for travellers.

Kinzelyuk waterfall (328 m high) in the Sayan Mountains is inferior only to Talnikovy waterfall (600 m high) on Putorana Plateau
