Sharypovsky local history museum

In 1986 in the town named Chernenko at that time, the first museum was open. The first expositions of the museum was about the development of Kansk and Achinsk fuel and energy complex and also about the life of the well-known native of the Sharypovsky district Konstantin Ustinovich, the general secretary of Communist Party of the Soviet Union. However in 1994 the museum was included in the state system of museums with a local history type, and nowadays the museum collections are formed generally in the areas of geology, paleontology, archeology, ethnography, and also the periods of revolution, civil war, a collectivism, the Great Patriotic War.

The main pride of the Sharypovsky museum is an archaeological collection of 30 thousand objects which confirm the scientists’ conclusions about the Sharypo area as about crossing of busy migratory ways at all times. At the district area there are about 400 archaeological monuments, all collected since the Upper Paleolithic up to the late Middle Ages.

The museum exhibitions, representing creativity of professional artists, local masters of decorative and applied arts, children creativity, have a great success with visitors.

The Sharypovsky museum took part in the International museum Biennale, carried out in Krasnoyarsk, the museum has a winner diploma. Though the efforts of the museum stuff their small provincial museum turned into the large Sharypovsky regional exhibition and excursion complex.
