On September 4, 2019, as part of the East-Economic Forum-2019, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin opened the newly built passenger terminal of domestic flights of the main air harbor of the Khabarovsk Territory.

New terminal with an area of more than 27 thousand square meters is ready to annually serve up to three million passengers by the most modern standards. The volume of investments amounted to 5 billion rubles, of which 3.9 billion were loans from VEB.RF and the Development Fund for the Far East. The terminal is ready to meet the growing demand of the Far East for air transportation, to ensure safety and high quality of passenger and airline services.

The construction of a new passenger terminal began in March 2018. It was designed by Assmann beraten + planen (Germany) together with the architectural bureau WP | ARC (Germany). The general contractor is the Turkish consortium Limak-Maraschstroy. Technical customer - DBC Consultants. The new terminal of domestic airlines is equipped with 3 telescopic ramps, 12 elevators for various purposes and 7 escalators. The technological equipment of the terminal complies with modern international and domestic standards; the requirements for providing comfort for passengers with limited mobility are met.
