05 June 2016, exactly 1,000 days before the start of the 29th Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019, many events in Krasnoyarsk were held, foremost of which was the launch of the countdown timer. It displays the exact time left until the beginning of the Opening Ceremony of the 29th Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019. It starts on 02 March 2019!

A place for the new art installation was being chosen carefully. It had to be a prominent place, which Krasnoyarsk citizens and visitors often attend. It was decided to install the clock on the left waterfront of the Yenisei river, near Kommunalny bridge.

The clock wasd manufactured and installed with the support of Mining and Metallurgical Company Norilsk Nickel, which is the general partner of the Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk.
