Irkutsk was founded in 1661, the city day is celebrated on the June first Saturday.

The festival takes place on the main streets, squares and parks. A fair invites customers to purchase the products of local handicraftsmen. There is an entertainment program for kids. Many prizes and gifts are raffled off. Lenina street is a place of carnival procession. Toward nightfall newly married are congratulated. During the day sporting events are held. Theaters give an open-air performances. The highlight of the day is a concert of popular singers. The holiday ends by a firework.

21:00 Concert of Denis Matsuev and the Governor's Symphony Orchestra. Conductor is the honored Artist of Russia Ilmar Lapins. The Kirov Square.

June 5, Sunday:

12:00 "Four Elements under Irkutsk sky" city festival. The Kirov Square.

12:00 "Literary Quarter" - book fair, open mic for Irkutsk writers, artists, singers, performance art groups. The Kirov Square.

13:00 Day of bubbles. Square near the monument to Alexander III.

16:00 The concert with participation of creative collectives of the city. The Kirov Square.

17:00 Dance evening "Sunday Boulevard". The scenic area on the island of Youth.
