Sainkho Namchylak is a Tuvinian singer with a mysterious, “shaman” voice. Techniques of her singing are various – from deep-throat singing called “khoomey” to vocal ones performed in different keys. Sainkho unites traditions of avant-garde, turns to ancient techniques of deep-throat singing and ethnic music of Siberian and Northern peoples, uses Tibetan singing and at the same time uses the newest techniques, including free-jazz singing and makes experiments with electronic music, combining digital technologies and archaic musical instruments.
Namchylak is named a “mysterious voice of Tuva”, and her wonderful and magnetic singing is compared to the sounds of nature and elements. So, you can see with your own eyes, when the nature and urban culture run into single unity, demonstrating the connection of times.
