From February, 12 – 14 in Buryat Republic there will be a presentation of a project within a framework of the event “The Great Tea Way” together with celebration of the Buryat national holiday “Sagaalgan”, which is a New Year according to the eastern calendar.

The guest of the holiday is Santa Claus named Yamala – Yamala Iri. This event is a part of an international expedition “Winter Tea Caravan”, which goes from China through Mongolia to Russia with visitation of the centres of tea trading of XVIII – XIX century. “The participants in regions will pass “tsybik” with tea as in a relay race”, inform organizers of this cultural event.

From Buratya “Winter Tea Caravan” departs to Irkutsk Region by snowmobile and dog teams and finishes its way on March, 2^nd at international exhibition “Baikaltour” in Irkutsk. On the territory of Buryatia the future tourist route will go through the villages of the republic, where performances of folk groups, fairs, tea ceremonies, excursions to museums and Ivolginsky Temple are supposed to take place.
