All-Russian literal festival "Days of Vasily Shukshin  in the Altai Mountains" opens on Thursday in the Barnaul city. The festival includes meeting with writers, exhibitions and cinema festival. Organizers of the festival is held there in honor of the filmmaker, actor and writer Vasily Shukshin. He was born in the Srostky village, Altai territory. Ceremonial opening of the festival will be held in Altay regional drama theater on 22. July. The festival’s program includes 7 movies. It’s "The Master and Margarita" by Yuri Kara, "Three Dostoevsky's Women” by Eugene Tashkov, "Silent outpost" by Sergei Makhovikov, "People’s Earth" by Sergei Govorukhin, "Helena" by Andrey Zvyagintsev, "Gogol. Blizhayshiy" by Natalia Bondarchuk and "Last play with dolls" by George Negashev.

The highlight of the festival is the artistic and journalistic program "From the height of Shukshin’s Picket". The event will be held on July,24 at the mount Picket, where the winner of the film festival and the winner of Shukshin’s literary prize will be announced. Thousands of people from different regions of Russia come to the festival every year.
