The navigation of small water vehicles started in May on the main tributary of Baikal - Selenga river. During May navigation also began on other tributaries of the lake - Barguzin river and the Upper Angara river. On the 1^st of June small size boats appeared on Baikal. As the inspection of the republican small size boats claims, the quantity of Buryat boats increased more than 700. this year more than 5700 boats will sail on Baikal.

The active development of small size boats on Baikal was caused by tourists' inflow increase. A special tourist zone in Buryatiya "Baikalskaya bay" is being planned now for 2 million people per year.
