Russian authorities have sanctioned the program of developing incoming tourism. The federal budget will give 96 bill. rub., regional budgets and private investors will appropriate – 236 bill.

The Ministry of Tourism says that the project’s aim is to form a competitive tourist market. The governors think that Russia having a great potential doesn’t use it at full extent.

The World Wide Tourist Organization’s figures suggest that Russia can meet up to 40 mill. people every year, whereas the current flow is only about 2 mill foreigners.

The funds devoted will be primarily sent for developing resort, beach, ethno-educational, ski and cruise tourism. The program will last till 2016.
