November 11, in the Altai the Day of Yeti was celebrated for the first time. The idea of the governor Aman Tuleev to celebrate this holiday with the start of the new skiing season was approved by indigenous elders.

On holiday on the mountain Foggy in Tashtagol inmates of children's ski school sports, hundreds of fans of sports, recreation and healthy lifestyles gathered .

Mountain Shoria is a land of mystery, fanned by myths and legends. A snow man has become the most popular legend in recent years. Throughout the world hundreds of cartoons were drawn, dozens of computer games were created. The Yeti, a symbol of kindness and strength, has became their hero. Hunters have been told repeatedly about the meetings with him or his tracks - even with the 1930-ies. Scientists and journalists of the federal and regional media went in search of Yeti.

During the holiday a fresh start the search for Yeti has been given. Local shamans promised his support, well and sponsors have decided to install for those who find the Yeti and bring it to him a special prize of 1 million rubles.

The Day of Yeti will be celebrated each year -  with the opening of ski season. "We want to make it bright family holiday, which can be carried out in the fresh air, pure white snow, fabulous Mountain Shoria. I'm sure it will be the most unusual and distinctive holiday" - the governor said.
