The head of special economic zones Federal agency Andrey Alpatov will arrive to Buryatiya republic to take part in the ceremony of consecration on July 9. This was announced by the governor of Irkutsk oblast Dmitry Mezentsev during the meeting with festival participants of "Baikal press-2009".

The head of the region showed regret that Irkutsk oblast hasn't yet defined the place for a tourist zone "The gates of Baikal", despite the fact that the decision of making the two tourist zones was taken simultaneously. He also mentioned that Irkutsk oblast can reach Buryatiya's level in construction of the tourist zone if it defines the borders of the zone "The gates of Baikal" in the nearest future.

The governor claimed that a special economic zone is a serious achievement in every region of Russia. That is why it is necessary to do everything for organizing it in Irkutsk oblast as soon as possible.
