The leader of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinivsky supported the initiative of Russian bloggers, who suggested a name “Siberia” for a new-discovered planet.

To be exact, the matter is about the planet GJ 1214b which is located at a distance of 40 light years from the Earth in the constellation called the Serpent Bearer. Mostly it consists of water with a small amount of iron and organ silicon. So, this is the first planet with atmosphere.

Some time later the magazine Wired suggested choosing the name for the new planet or voting for suggested ones earlier. As a result Russian bloggers gave the idea with “Siberia”.

As it is stated on a website of LDPR, Zhirinovsky has already given his voice to support this variant. To his opinion “Siberia is power, energy and mystery”, that’s why this name is ideal for the new-discovered planet.
