Research Institute of  SuperJob.ru portal introduced the results of the survey “ What could be the symbol of  Russia outside it from your point of view?”. So, Russian people believe that the main symbol is a matryoshka. 12% of people have such opinion. By-turn, 8% of respondents think that the symbol of the country could be a bear. Speaking about a bear, some people argue that it is a brown one,  while other people consider polar bear as a symbol; and the third group imagine the Olympic Bear (symbol of  Moscow Olympic Games of 1980).

6% of respondents called vodka as a Russian symbol and only 4% - the state flag. The following symbols have 3% votes each. They are a double-headed eagle, arms of the country such as a gun of Kalashnikova and a tank. Finally, 2% of people have an opinion that the symbols of Russia are valenki ( country bumpkin), a birch, gas and oil, winter or snow, spaceship or sputnik, the Red Square, samovar, Cheburashka( a character from cartoons for children) and of course roads.

All the rest respondents say that such things as balalaika ( national string instrument), pancakes with caviar and borscht can be also considered as national symbols!
