Severo-Baikalsky district and Severobaikalsk have won a competition for hosting a special economic tourist zone within "Organic escape" project.

Establsihing of the zone will give new impulse to development of the Norhern Baikal territory based on environmental care and ecological safety. 3 billions of roubles will be invested in road building, heat, energy and water supply, intstallation of sewage system. Also several 3-starred hotels and 1 international luxury hotel are planned to be built.

Another features of the tour zone will be an ethnographic village, recreation sector near Slyudyanskie lakes and "Safari-park", a deer open zoo.
