Early in the morning Arrival to Abakan, the capital city of the Republic of Khakassia. Meeting at the railway station (train №68 from Moscow via Yaroslavl, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk, Novosibirsk).

The population of the city is 179 000, a third of the whole republic lives here. There are 4314 km from Moscow and 408 km from Krasnoyarsk to Abakan. It is located in the central part of Minusinsk Depression and mainland Asia, at approximately the same latitude as Hamburg and Minsk. The city is situated at the confluence of the Yenisei and Abakan Rivers.

In the continuation of the excursion you are going to an old Siberian city Minusinsk which is a memorial city of architectural antiquity. During the excursion you will see The Saviour Cathedral, walk around the city-centre, aged merchant’s houses, visit a local market where you can buy famous Minusinsk tomatoes. Tomatoes in Minusinsk were begun to grow the last century. Many local residents still use seed varieties, which fell to them by inheritance from grandparents. The largest tomato weighing nearly 2 kg, raised a local man in 2010.

Then the tourists go to Shushenskoye village. This small village is widely known for its ethnographic museum. The excursion to the ethnographical museum Shushenskoye will bring you to the real Siberian village of 19-20 centuries. The history of the museum is inextricably linked with the name of Vladimir Lenin, who lived in Shushenskoye in exile 1897-1900. This corner of antiquity is situated on a bank of the river Shush, near its confluence with the Yenisei. There are numerous monuments of architecture on the 7 hectares: farmhouses, commercial shop, jail, tavern, about 200 wooden buildings. A lot of people go here attracted by ancient Siberian traditions, which are fully preserved in this place. A visit to a real tavern, you can see handicrafts and go to the shop of a merchant. Here you will be served a cup of tea.

Excursion to the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydro power station. The dam was built in 1987, height 245 meters, the length of the ridge 1,070 meters, the width at the base of 110 meters, the width of thecrest 25 meters. Hydroelectric dam forms the Sayan-Shushenskoye reservoir volume of 31.34 km ³ and an area of 621 km ². In the area of the reservoir there is the Sayano-Shushensky Biosphere Reserve. Amazingly clear water allows to exist a trout farm near hydroelectric power station, because trout are known to not tolerate polluted water. Visit a trout farm, where it will be able to buy fresh fish.

Leaving to Abakan, visiting the Republican Regional Museum (Monday – day off), where unique collection of stone statues is kept. Some of them are considered to be still powerful. Lunch.

From Abakan the group goes to the Valley of Kings, there are about 30 burial mounds aged from the 4-3 century B.C. The culmination of the trip will be the Great Salbyk Mound which was built on the noble family’s grave and excavated by archaeologists in 1954-56. It measured 0,5 km in perimeter and 11,5 m high, the weight of stones is up to 60 tonnes. Then back way to Abakan. Dinner. Boarding on the train to Krasnoyarsk.

Arrival to Krasnoyarsk railway station.

The day begins with Krasnoyarsk city tour visiting of all basic sights: the monument to Andrey Dubensky, the founder of the city, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view; Karaulnaya Hill where Paraskeva Pjatnitsa chapel (1855) is located; Annunciation temple, Intercession cathedral and Catholic church in the program. During the excursion you’ll see Mira Avenue, Drama Theatre, Opera and Ballet House, Yenisei quay.

In the continuation of the excursion tourists will visit Surikov’s house-museum– wooden house of the beginning of the century, keeping all the features of that period (furniture, design, utensils, service buildings). At the end of 19^th century a young boy Vasia Surikov left this house to win world-wide glory of one of the most prolific painter of that period.

After lunch transfer to the railway station to board a train to Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Vladivostok, Ulan-Bator or Beijing.
