Russian national organization ‘Green Patrol’ published an ecological rating of Russian Regions. According to the opinion of its experts the most environmentally friendly situation is in Belgorodsky Region, in Chukotka and in Altai Republic.

The top ten of the most polluted regions constitute the Republic of Northern Osetia-Alania, Yamalo-Nenetky AA, Moscow Region and others. The list is headed by Chelyabinsky Territory.

The manager of the project highlighted: ‘all the regions of the last ten feature absence of any ecological policy  from authorities, enormous accumulation of industrial pollution, lack of recycling of household garbage, dramatically worn-out industrial equipment , especially purification works ’.

In accordance with the figures presented by Russian Public Opinion Research Center the factors the Russian consider the most harmful to the nature are deforestation, transport pollution, damage by industrial enterprises.
