At the contest’s website organizing committee has already started to accept applications for participation in the competition. There will take place in two stages. At first an all-Russian vote will take place in the social network VKontakte. Twenty best video messages will be chosen and then these candidates will go through an assessment procedure conducted by a professional team of psychologists. Selected finalists will appear before an international jury. Candidate should be no older than 26 years, fluently speak English, but also they should have a good health, know how to deal with a video camera and communicate in different social networks. The deadline for applications – December 31, 2011.

The winners will make a trip around the world. During their journey  which will last 3 months, young people will visit 21 countries on 5 continents, every day reporting about their adventures in social networks Twitter and Facebook and also through a video blog. They will have to communicate with local people, mass media representatives and experts in the field of energy.

Their itinerary includes Kiev (Ukraine), Sofia (Bulgaria), Istanbul (Turkey), Dubai (UAE), Mumbai (India), Singapore, Jakarta (Indonesia), Shanghai  (China), Kansai (Japan), San-Francisco (USA), Edmonton, Alberta (Canada), New Orleans (USA), San-Paolo (Brazil), Johannesburg (South Africa), Lagos (Nigeria), Pamplona (Spain), London (Great Britain), Reykjavik (Iceland), Nuuk (Greenland), Copenhagen (Denmark), Helsinki (Finland) and Moscow (Russia).

The aim of the “Energy of Adventures” contest is to show to people from different countries that the energy efficiency and energy security problems concern every person, every family and every city. The main idea of this program is to attract the attention of people to the modern global and local energy problems and to inspire them to think about the possible solutions.
